YHDP news to use
- If you were not able to attend “Next Steps” webinar,
- One of our TA providers, True Colors United, has requested that young people interested in joining YAB should complete a survey. Note, this is only for youth, so please send it to the youth who are interested!
Here is the link to the survey for you who are interested in joining this effort. - Use this form as you are creating your local youth action groups
- Please add at least one Youth contact name to the YHDP Contact form.
- You can add all the youth action group members to the form as well, but please designate who will be the point of contact.
- ENGAGEMENT IS THE KEY!!
- Mentioned during the webinar & at the Nov. Balance of State mtg, it is critical that young people are engaged now in this process. No projects can be awarded, none of the $7.5 million can be spent or allocated without functional youth action groups. At this point, the only youth action group that I am aware of is Kenosha. If you are in the planning phase, great – but you need to make sure you are connect with Leigh about it. Remember, the invitations for participation should go to all youth in the community under the age of 24 with lived experience. The lived experience can include the school district definition and/or at-risk definition.
- PLANNING AHEAD
- The next planning & workgroup meeting for the CCP is scheduled for January 11 & 25th from 10-noon. Make sure to SAVE THE DATE.
- Please remember participation in the planning & workgroup meetings, facilitation of youth action groups, and working locally on your CCP attachment(s) are required to be eligible for funding. Please make sure this has been communicated across your coalition with partners.
- The Board of Directors approved the CoC Youth Action compensation policy. We are working out the logistics and documents for youth to complete when submitting their requests. The link for those requests will be sent to the YHDP points of contact for each coalition. If you would wish to be added to that list, please contact Leigh.
