why we meet
Meetings are held quarterly for the purpose of education around best practices, HUD policies and business related to the organizational effectiveness as a 501(c3). Listed below is the schedule for the upcoming year and links to the historical documents related to those meetings.
These meetings are open to all organizations within the 69 Balance of State counties. A meeting fee is charged to cover the costs of speakers, lunch and facility costs for the conference. All registrations are taken online but payment can be made online or remitted to the Treasurer.

As a result of the COVID 19, the WI Balance of State CoC has cancelled the May quarterly in-person BOS meeting. However, there will be 2 separate 2 hour sessions scheduled by go-to webinar for Thursday, May 21. Each session will focus on a specific items:
· Staff from the WI Department of Children and Families (DCF) talking about 17 year olds in emergency shelter, human trafficking and the runaway homeless youth programs.
· CoC Project Scoring Tool and Threshold
· WI Balance of State CoC Business meeting
These sessions are free and open to anyone.

Presentation - Act 22 and You: Considerations and recommendations when sheltering 17 year-olds
With the passage of Act 22, the Department has received numerous requests from adult shelter providers for youth-specific resources, and for information regarding keeping youth safe in adult spaces. During this session, we will provide an overview of adolescent brain development, youth-specific resources, and recommendations for protecting vulnerable young people. There will also be time for questions and answers related to the recent legislative change.
Wisconsin Balance of State CoC Quarterly Meeting
The membership gathers to hear updates and conduct business that may require membership votes.
Each session will focus on a specific items
